Systems and Computing (SyCom) welcomes proposals for Special Issues focusing on emerging, innovative, or interdisciplinary topics in the fields of systems, computing, and their applications.

A Special Issue may include:

  • A collection of original research articles on a specific theme.

  • Extended versions of selected papers originally presented at workshops, conferences, or developed through collaborative research projects.

  • Invited contributions from leading international experts.

Responsibilities of the Lead Guest Editor

In cases where multiple Guest Editors are involved, one must be formally designated as the Lead Guest Editor.

The Lead Guest Editor should have recognized expertise in the subject area of the Special Issue. Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining the scope and objectives of the Special Issue.

  • Recruiting a team of qualified Guest Editors.

  • Identifying and inviting potential contributors.

  • Overseeing the peer-review process to ensure fairness, quality, and timeliness.

Proposals should include:

  1. Title. Provide a clear and concise title for the proposed Special Issue.

  2. Theme and objectives (1–2 pages). Justify the relevance and timeliness of the chosen theme or topics.

  3. List of Guest Editors (names, affiliations, ORCID/Google Scholar links).

  4. Tentative schedule (opening and closing dates for submissions).

  5. Dissemination plan (call for papers, associated conference, etc.).

Evaluation and Selection:

Proposals will be evaluated based on their alignment with the journal's scope, relevance, originality, and potential impact.

The editorial board will review the proposals and provide feedback and recommendations for further development, if necessary.

Publication:

Once a Special Issue proposal is approved, the Guest Editor(s) will work closely with the editorial team to manage the submission and review process.

Accepted papers will be published in the Special Issue of "Systems and Computing".
